An enthusiastic advocate of shelter dogs, Linda DeMento began her training as a volunteer at a local animal shelter. For several years she studied science-based training methods under the guidance of trainer Suzette Nicolini. In 2011, Linda attended Sue Sternberg’s Instructor Training Course where she met fellow classmate and canine trainee Jefferson, whom she later adopted. The two now continue to polish their skills together, taking classes at Pets In Motion.

Linda graduated from Villanova University with an MS in Human Organization Science, and in 2011 completed Kutztown University’s Canine Management and Training Program. Past experience teaching English as a Second Language and working in human services help to inform her current interest in translating the human-canine conversation.

An active member of the Alliance of Progressive Pet Trainers (a tri-state networking group), Linda meets monthly to discuss effective practice and positive training methods. She is an APDT member and regularly attends workshops in animal behavior presented by experts such as Pamela Reid, Kathy Sdao and Trish King.
