Laura has been passionate about dogs for as long as she can remember. In 2010, she decided to make her passion her career and enrolled in Animal Behavior College, graduating with honors. While at ABC, Laura learned from assisting well known trainer and author, Leslie McDevitt, with her classes. Laura believes strongly in the importance of continuing her education and has since attended, as well as participated in many seminars by experts such as Ian Dunbar, Grisha Stewart, Ken Ramirez, Ali Brown, and Kathy Sdao.

Laura is also an enthusiastic and devoted supporter of the Delaware County SPCA. As a volunteer, she initiated a mentor training program, where as mentor, she teaches student trainers positive training methods with the shelter dogs. She also coaches the shelter staff and the volunteers in proper dog handling methods, taught a clicker training class, and started a fund raiser called Dollars for Collars to raise money for humane training equipment.

She feels the key to a harmonious dog-human relationship is good communication, and her goal is teaching the owner how to better understand the dog, as well as how to get the dog to better understand the human. Laura also believes that the training process can, and should be fun for both the owner and the dog.

Laura is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Knowledge Assessed, and is a professional member of APDT, and an active member in the Alliance of Progressive Pet Trainers group. She lives with her husband, two sons, one bird, one lizard, rescue dog Marty McFly and English Shepherd, Mabel.
